Atlas Works

Hey, I'm Tanner Steeves — Owner of Atlas Works

I started Atlas Works because I genuinely love solving problems with code, building tools people actually use, and making business tech less of a headache for real Canadians.

About Me

Developer, problem-solver, and your direct point of contact

Hey, I’m Tanner Steeves. I’m 30 years old as I write this, and I’ve been passionate about software and web development for well over a decade. My journey started around 2009 or 2010, but I like to say “10+ years of experience” so I don’t feel like I’m dating myself too hard.

My interest in coding actually started from gaming. Back in the Xbox 360 days, I got pulled into a modded Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 lobby. Suddenly, the game wasn’t playing by the rules and I was instantly hooked. I messaged the guy running the lobby, asked how he did it, and he actually explained it to me. That one random game session ended up changing the entire direction of my life.

From that moment on, I was obsessed with how things work behind the scenes. I spent hours learning about memory editing, exploits, and messing with games using tools like Cheat Engine. I’d find exploits in anything I could get my hands on. I even got a bunch of Facebook accounts banned back in the day for leaderboard hacks in games like FishWorld. It was chaotic, but it taught me a lot.

As I got older, my curiosity shifted toward building things, not just breaking them. I dove into Visual Studio, started with Visual Basic, and then moved into full-on web development. I wanted to understand how sites worked, how to break them, and eventually, how to build them better. I even got into PHP security testing—shell injections, misconfigurations, you name it—strictly for educational purposes.

A few years ago, I developed some private tools and exploits for the newer Call of Duty titles, mostly Warzone. It was fun until it wasn’t; after two cease and desist letters showed up at my door, hand-delivered, I realized it was time to pivot and put my skills to better use. That’s when Atlas Works, also known as Atlas Solutions, came to life.

These days, I focus on building secure, clean, and modern digital tools for clients and communities. I’m all about helping people bring their ideas to life, whether that’s through a custom app, a new website, or just a smarter, more secure workflow.

Outside of work, I’m married to my beautiful wife Natasha. She’s been my rock through all the late nights and wild ideas. We share our home with three quirky cats who keep life interesting, and we’re incredibly excited to be expecting our first child, a baby boy, this coming September. It’s a crazy season of life, but also the most rewarding one yet.

When I’m not coding or spending time with my family, you’ll probably find me outdoors, gaming, or diving down another tech rabbit hole just for fun. I believe in always learning, always building, and staying grounded in what really matters.
